Ballet Technique, Pointe, Classical Variations, Men's Class, Partnering, Contemporary, Choreography, Corps to the Core*, Character, Jazz, Hip Hop and Acting Technique. Seminar topics include Hair and Make-Up for Stage, Etiquette for the Studio/Theatre, Dance History, Nutrition, Injury Prevention and more! Students will also partake in Art with Alli where they will be asked to reflect on their work at artÉmotion and research topics on dance. Students will have the opportunity to dance in a performance the last day of the program.

The Intermediate program is a half day intensive for students just beginning to explore their technique. Classes will include Ballet Technique, Pre-pointe, Men's Class, Contemporary, Jazz, Character, Acting and seminars including Etiquette for the Studio/Stage, Dance History and Art with Alli. Students will have the opportunity to dance in a performance the last day of the program. Food and housing plans will not be available to students participating in the artÉmotion Intermediate Summer Intensive.

Auditions for the intermediate program will only be held in Cleveland, Ohio. The Choreographic Workshop is by invitation only. It is a five week program consisting of Ballet West Academy Summer Intensive’s first three week session followed by a two week Choreographic Workshop, culminating in a world premiere performance. Ballet West First Soloist, Allison DeBona, and Ballet West Principal, Rex Tilton, are the Directors of the artEmotion Summer Intensive and lead the two week Choreographic Workshop. It is designed to offer dancers a company environment that includes a technique class every morning followed by six hours of rehearsal. Only 45 dancers are accepted to the program as participants are dancers Ballet West is interested in inviting to Ballet West as Trainees. This workshop is offered to dancers ages 16 and older, only.

The Ballet West Academy Summer Intensive is a 5-week program. If you are accepted you will have the option to attend the full 5 week session or only the first 3 week session. This intensive is designed for serious dancers ages 13-21 who desire individualized instruction. The Ballet West Academy Summer Intensive challenges dancers to improve their ballet technique, and study other dance forms that compliment classical ballet. Our program offers the unique opportunity for advanced dancers to be considered as candidates for Ballet West’s Professional Training Division and Trainee Program.
The program is held in downtown Salt Lake City at Ballet West's facility and offers unparalleled training by a distinguished staff of Ballet West Academy Faculty, Ballet West Artistic Staff (featuring Artistic Director Adam Sklute), Ballet West dancers and well known in-state and out of state guest teachers.

A limited amount of financial aid is available for artÉmotion Summer Intensive’s Cleveland programs. Awards will be based on potential and financial need. Room and board is not covered by financial aid. In order to apply for financial aid students must have been accepted into the program as well as secured their place in the program by paying the $500.00 deposit to Ballet West.

There will be an end of intensive performance at our Choreographic Workshop, Cleveland and Adult Programs. Families will be invited to attend. Parents will not be permitted to observe any classes or rehearsals at these programs. There is not a end of intensive performance following the Ballet West three or five week Salt Lake City Intensive. We do encourage parents of students at our Salt Lake City Intensive to observe their dancers in class the last week of the Intensive. Parents and/or legal Guardians are the only people invited to watch due to space constraints. Parents are encouraged to bring their own comfortable seating if they do not wish to sit on the floor.
